Chemical Reaction of Glow Stick, A Chemiluminescent Reaction

Want to add some soft color and light to your party? The answer is glow stick and glow products! Glow stick products are used by fun-lovers around the world. The common colors include green, yellow, orange, blue, red, pink and purple. And they bring a warm and soft light to all occasions. We all know what glow sticks are. But how do they work? In a nutshell, glow stick uses chemical reaction to emit light. And they do not generate heat while emitting light. That’s why the chemical reaction is called a chemiluminescence reaction, which basically means a chemical reaction that emits light with limited amount of heat generated.

Usually, light is produced from a reaction that creates heat; but in the glow stick, it is not exactly the case. Although the glow stick does not create heat, the rate of the chemical reaction that produces energy causes the stick to glow. One great factor affecting the intensity of the glow is the temperature. If you want your light stick to glow brighter you can put it in hot water, but the glow time will be shortened then. Glow sticks are great decoration. For example, arranging multiple color glow necklaces in a glass vase to make a glow in the dark vase. Glow products are entertaining. They attract immediate attention and spice the mood up in social gatherings. Glow products come in a symphony of colors. Tri-color glow necklaces are especially popular at parties, carnivals, holiday celebrations, nightclubs etc.

Many Halloween costumes are in dark colors and they can pose danger because bikes and vehicles cannot see kids in dark colors at night clearly. But the problem can be easily solved with glow products. Have your kids wear some bright color bright color lights and glow necklace such as green and yellow ones will make them easy to see by passing vehicles. You can also decorate with glow stick from head to toes. In parties, people like to dance with some disco music on and to make it better, dim the lights and hand out glow stick and glow products to your guests to wear and wave around.
